First Fruits Offerings are now to be in the form of money
This is a myth because all First Fruits offerings are to be in crops—none in animals and none in any other form.
Deuteronomy 8:7 “For the LORD* your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; 8. a land of wheat, barley, vines, fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey; 9. a land in which you will eat bread without scarceness.”
The crops in bold are the ones to be offered, with the important distinction of being the first of each crop. This is the entirety of the First Fruits offering.
If one chooses to keep one law of Moses, they need to keep the other over 600 of them.
I am under the law of the Spirit
Shalom Cathy,
You cannot pick and choose which commandments to obey. OBEY ALL 613!

In Malachi 3:10 ,when God states that “He will pour out a blessing”, from reading and studying the context of tithing, the “pour” means that He will enable the crops to grow and prosper abundantly with water or whatever He decides. It does not mean that if you give your money, that you will get so much back that you won’t be able to receive it all. I’m open for discussion.
Shalom Terrence,
Thank you for writing. In the context of the agricultural economy of Israel when Malachi wrote, you are correct. It does not directly relate to today’s economy, but the principle is there without the wheelbarrows of money, the overflow is agricultural.

Firstfruits is the first of our increase. It doesn’t matter if it is not literally the fruits in the law. God is looking for the giving of our heart cheerfully and of ourselves. If the only thing we produce is an income, then we ought to give from that.
Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
I am open for discussion.
Shalom Jeff,
Thank you for writing and for being open. The First Fruits in Scripture are only for certain agricultural products. Barley is brought at Unleavened Bread, Wheat at Shavuot (May 19, 2018), and the fall crops at Sukkot. This has nothing to do with increase, just the very first harvested from each crop, with very small quantities, like two quarts of barley even thousands of bushels are harvested, or two loaves of bread for wheat harvest. What was important was that each farmer brought the very first that was harvested. The Sh’mita year had no First Fruits offering because no crops were planted. The farmer and others could only pick what came that year on a day to day basis.
The farmer still has to tithe the increase of that crop, with the tithe entirely different matter. Both First Fruits and tithe are given to the priest for his share of income, so neither First Fruits or Tithe is given to God.
