Deuteronomy 6:4.“Listen! Obey, O Israel! The LORD* is our God! The LORD* is One! 5. And you will love the LORD* your God with all your heart, with your very being, and with all your might. (Matt. 22:37, Mark 12:33, Luke 10:27) When Y’shua was asked what was the most important commandment He answered with Deuteronomy 6. All His disciples knew that God was One! Every first Century believer knew that God was One!
It is past time to recognize that the Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is not Scriptural. The Trinity came into Christian thought as former Heathens took over leadership of the Church in the second and third centuries, then it was carved in stone at the Council of Nicea in 325 AD. At that conference Eusebius, who was seated next to Emperor Constantine, objected when Constantine insisted that the phrase “immersing in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” be added to Matthew 29:19. The emperor won the argument, so the words were added. The last of the added passages is also still in some translations today, in 1 John 5:7, “witnessing in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. And these three are in one.” That was added to the Third Edition of Erasmus’ Greek text in the sixteenth century, then deleted from future editions, but the Third Edition stuck and is still with us today.
